Description
Here are 7 (nearly) antique photos of workers/people associated with the Behrens Mine; I don't know where the mine is/was though some of the photos show snow and deciduous trees + some of the people have "W" on their clothes so Wisconsin maybe? I know there is a Behrens mine in AZ but the photos don't look right for there.3 of the photos show groups of miners and the rest show groups of people though I don't know how they were associated...they were all together in with a huge lot of other mining ephemera from approx. the early 1900's to 1950's.
These photos are from 1923 to perhaps the 1930's. One is a rppc showing miners near the entrance of the mine. 2 more are group photos of miners with their breathing apparatus(es) on, 3 more are groups of people somehow associated with the mining town/industry, and the last is of a house.
4 of the photos measure 6 1/2" X 8 1/2", one measures 9 1/2" X 6 3/8", one measures 9 5/8" X 5 3/4", and the rppc measures 3 3/8" X 5 3/8".
CONDITION: The rppc has some folds/creases, writing on the back, and a small spot at center, one of the photos has a small tear on the top & bottom, and the photo of the house has some yellow spotting--pls check all of my pics carefully. The envelope they are all in is very tattered, stained, and worn.
