2000 Harley-Davidson Sportster

This bike was purchased by the seller in November 2020. I was in a machine shop looking at an engine to buy and this bike was sitting by itself and covered in dust. The owner asked me if I was interested in the bike. I immediately recognized that it was a Sport from the dual plug heads and was blown away by the beautiful wheels, brake rotors, chain conversion, and various other upgrades. It also had a perfect fresh paint job with the wrong tank graphics. The owner made me an offer I couldn’t refuse and I took it home. This is my third Sportster and I had been looking for a donor bike for a Street Tracker project for years but could never find one with laced wheels. I couldn’t believe my luck finding this limited production bike with perfect high end flat tracker wheels. I detailed the bike, installed a new 42mm Flat Slide Carburetor and the Supertrapp exhaust system, had the tank repainted with the correct graphics, and performed all scheduled maintenance. I love Sportster styling and I just couldn’t cut the frame to install an XR style tank and seat. I have put 800 miles on it so far this summer and everything works as it should. The mileage is going up as I ride it frequently. I have no reason to believe that any internal modifications have been performed on the engine. The flat slide carb and Supertrapp exhaust combine for instant throttle response. The sticky 18” wheels both ends make steering very quick. It’s nothing but fun to ride but you have to pay attention.
