    429-460 Power Steering Pump Bracket
For sale is for a New Bracket Kit to mount a Saginaw Power Steering Pump on your 429-460 Big Block Ford. This Mounting Bracket has been designed to position A Saginaw style Power Steering Pump slightly up and outboard which allows you to run a factory mechanical fuel pump. (see photos)
It is shown in a 1956 F-100 with a Camaro Subframe.
Our brackets have a brushed satin finish. This kit includes all hardware to complete your installation. We have made every effort to simplify this installation for you: The bolts have flange heads to prevent the washers from falling off during installation, and the nut inserts on the back bracket come pressed in, so you won't have to fumble with holding the pump, bolts, spacers, and washers. We designed this as if
    we were going
    to install it ourselves!
Use Gates belt #7430 with this bracket kit (Mechanical Pump)
This bracket kit uses the (3) 7/16" threaded holes in the front of the head. It will not fit if you have Super Cobra-Jet Heads, Dove or C9VE Heads with 3/8-16 threaded holes in the front of the head.. See eBay item number 172638519125
These brackets are machined from 3/8" thick 6061-T6 Billet aluminum manufactured by Kaiser Aluminum in the USA

    Saginaw Power Steering Pumps:
Do I need a power steering pump with a press fit pulley or a pump that has a keyed and threaded shaft?
Either style will work with our bracket kit. If you are going to install a chrome or aluminum pulley, you will find the pump with the keyed/threaded shaft will be much easier to work with.
The pumps with a Keyed /threaded shaft were used from the mid 60?s into the late 70?s depending on the vehicle. In the 60?s the pump housing had an oval shaped fill tube. By 1970 they had changed over to the more common banjo design. GM started changing over to the press fit pulley in the mid 70?s.. Later GM changed to a ?metric? pump. The mounting holes are in the same location, but the fittings have metric threads.
Both styles have the same mounting holes and are interchangeable for the purposes of mounting with our brackets. There are differences in the location and shape of the return tube for the various car models, and some trucks with hydroboost had a dual return.
There are a few pumps that have a slightly different location for one of the mounting holes. These are not very common, but to make sure your pump will fit our bracket: measure the hole to hole spacing on the 2 holes that are used to mount the pump. It should be 3.79? center to center (just over 3 ¾?) If you happen to have a non-standard pump, it would be about 3 ½?. You may want to just buy a rebuilt pump that will fit. (less than ) The pump shown in the photo is for a ?70 Camaro with a 350. Very easy to obtain at your local parts store. Guaranteed to fit!
Installation of our bracket kits requires a competent mechanic. Our Bracket kits typically cover more than a 20 year span of engine and car models. We strive for a perfect fit, but with differences in blocks, heads, aftermarket parts, alternators, power steering pumps, harmonic balancers, etc. it is impossible to get a perfect fit 100% of the time. If for any reason your kit does not fit perfectly, contact us before damaging, or forcing anything. We have selected bolts and spacers for our kits that should work 99% of the time? but there may be situations where you need a custom bolt or spacer. We will be happy to supply those for you to ensure a perfect fit.
