DescriptionArt Deco French sterling silver circular mirror plateau centerpiece, circa 1920s. Surrounded with sterling silver framework with thick rosewood handles or embellishments at the cardinal points. Finished with wood backing underneath. Measures 14 1/8" across the wood handles x 7/8" height. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, in use from 1838, which guaranteed the finest quality silver of .950/1000 purity (95% silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Bearing maker's mark for silversmiths Saglier Frères, active from 1897, at 12 rue d'Enghien, Paris. In overall good condition. No chips or cracks. Some scratches/dark spots to the mirror commensurate with use, dimples on the silver rim.
