COVERED VEGETABLE SERVER - Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Covered Two-handled Vegetable Dish, c. 1880s, with ornate floral and foliate repousse decoration, heron heads at handle edges, four folded feet, #6007-4653, also marked "Tiffany & Co., Makers, Sterling Silver, 925-1000, M", script engraved "Cook" on base, 6 1/2" high, 11" x 7 3/4", 48.31 ozt. Fine condition.
Descended in the family of Henry H. Cook (New York banker) to his granddaughter, Mabel Evans Dodge Sterne Luhan (1879-1962), wealthy patron of the Arts and nationally syndicated columnist for the Hearst organization, and finally to her grandchildren.
