    Description

An exquisite Sterling Silver Compote / Tazza/ Centerpiece by Durham Silver Co. of New York. The silver company operated in the 1950s and 1960s.
This item features angels / cherubs / tutti and Lion's Heads along with leafy scrolls and openwork in a very wide band surrounding the solid silver center of the dish - the cherubi pattern repeats at the base of the compote in yet another wide band that wraps around the entire base.
Please, see photos for a better description than I can give with my words.
The piece is clearly marked in the center - up under the bottom of the item - see photos of the mark.
Excellent condition without damage or repairs - we've given it a quick polish with a soft cloth which has left plenty of nice old patina - you can easily polish it to a "cleaner" appearance if desired.
Weight: 24.6 oz or 699 grams
    Diameter at top: 9-1/2 inches
    Diameter of Base: 4-7/8"
