On March 30th, Deputy Chase responded to a call for service in a rural community in Pinal County. He arrived on scene and without warning an armed subject open fired on Deputy Chase. He was shot in the leg leaving him with a serious and life threatening injury. He heroically remained calm in the fight for his life, addressed the situation and was able to call for backup. His backup arrived and is credited with saving his life.
After being flown to the hospital he underwent extensive surgery to restore blood flow to his leg. This incident is a reminder of the dangers law enforcement faces every day. Deputy Chase has a long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally, which will keep him out of work for an unknown period of time.
Compounding that is the time his wife will need to take off work while he recovers.
Deputy Chase has two years of honorable law enforcement service. Before Deputy Chase went into law enforcement, he proudly served in the United States Navy and is a proud military veteran.
He’s passionate, hardworking and provides for his loving wife and two young children, ages 8 and 11. Deputy Chase is a kind and gentle person who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger and not ask for anything in return.
Recently while on duty he made contact with a homeless man and realizing the man did not have adequate clothing to combat the weather conditions, Deputy Chase took it upon himself to buy the man clothes, blankets, food, and water out of his own pocket, without an expectation that he would be recognized for his generous act. This is just one of many situations that demonstrates the very kind, generous, and giving man that Deputy Chase is. Now it’s our time to help out one of Pinal Counties finest. Deputy Chase is a hero, now it’s our turn to be the hero.
