HTF ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER SMALL TRAY REPOUSSE by WHITING MANUFACTURING CO.

Description

Small rectangular pin tray by Whiting Manufacturing Co.  They were in business in N Attleboro, MA from 1866-1875 until the mill was destroyed by fire.  It was acquired by F Jones in New York and then purchased by Gorham in 1924 in Providence, RI.
I didn't try to clean it.  I'll leave that to the new owner!  I'm sure it'll be a lot nicer once it's cleaned.  (Please excuse the yellow in pictures - it's a reflection of my shirt).  There is a couple dark spots and small dents as well as light surface scratches.
This is about 5 1/2" x 2 12/" x 5/8" and weighs about 38.2 grams on a triple beam scale.  It has a nice repousse design as shown with a rose and scrollwork on each end.  It is marked on the backside with the W and Lion and Sterling 3485.  I believe the number refers to the year it was manufactured - 1891.  It is a nice little tray.  Whiting items are hard to come by as they weren't in business that long.
