    Description

    MEN'S SHIRT with flat plastron
    late 19th century in Linen
Men's shirt from the end of the 19th century with a flat plastron in fine white linen, designed to be worn with a false collar.
The plastron is flat and its closure is provided by three rows of double buttonholes that can be used with metal buttons of the collar button type (photos 2 and 3).
The cuffs are closed with a mother-of-pearl button (photo 4).
The collar is equipped at the back with a small button intended to fix the false collar (photo 5). A pleated under the bottom of the plastron (photo 2) and a small pleated under the yoke of the back (photo 5) ensure the ease of the garment.
As usual, the shirt is very long and the rear panel is a little longer than the front panel. Two slits separate them at the bottom. A small reinforcement triangle is added at the top of the slit to prevent tearing. A discreet "LT" monogram is embroidered near the right slit.
    Here are the main measures:
    Neck circumference: 35/36 cm
flat width between shoulders: 45 cm
chest width under armholes: 49 cm
sleeve length: 55cm from shoulder to wrist
    flat cuff width: 9.5 cm
    armhole width: 21 cm
total back length, from the bottom of the collar to the bottom of the shirt: 102 cm
front panel 14 cm shorter than the rear panel
height of the slot between the panels: 37 cm (compared to the rear panel)
This shirt is sold as a 2nd choice because the bottom of the rear panel has been damaged: a central hitch 10 cm from the bottom and a side angle to be repaired or modified by making a rounding. These accidents are well hidden in the pants, but it would be nice to make the repairs. The price takes into account these small jobs to be carried out.
Shirt weight: approx. 450 grams without packaging
