Up for auction is this Very, Very RARE and Highly Collectible PROMOTIONAL Album Flat Poster for the 1993 "AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS". The front reads "20th Annual American Music Awards, 1993, Monday January 25 on ABC-TV, 8pm Eastern & Pacific - 7pm Central & Mountain", the back reads the same but in a differnet style. This is the perfect size poster for framing and displaying, makes a Great gift too. It is really a nice size for people who do not have the wall space for the full size larger posters. Please see ALL photos below, this is a double sided flat, and I am showing BOTH sides in the photos below. This flat is dated 1993. This item is in EXCELLENT CONDITION! THIS FLAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A REPRODUCTION!!! OUR FLATS ARE ALL SHIPPED FLAT, NEVER ROLLED INTO A TUBE!
For those of you who do not know, an Album Flat is a two sided PROMOTIONAL Poster, but there were some single sided flats made as well. This is printed on a thick stock, and MEASURE approx 12-1/2" x 12-1/2" square. This was printed by the record label to promote this album's release, back when it first came out. This is NOT a vinyl record, we are not responsible for bidders who can not read. I worked for the Record Labels between 1988 and 1993, this was one of the neat perks that I received for my hard work... Back then, in those earlier days, we were told to pull ALL vinyl records from ALL the store shelves, because they were no longer going to sell or produce records. This made it next to impossible for us Representatives to build the promotion displays. So as a solution to this dilemma, the record labels came up with, and created these "Album Flats". These are Album sleeve sized posters, printed on thick stock, they have wonderful Colors and graphics, as well as Great details. These were printed for PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY and were NOT FOR SALE. Not many of these survived much after the initial release of the album was over. Not to mention that back then, the Flat was in its trial period, and they did not print up as many as they print today when an album is released. There are not many around that date back as far as the ones I am selling. The flats I am selling are some of the First Flats that were ever printed by the Music Industry. When these were used to build Sales displays in stores, they would get taped, stapled, and cut into pieces, in order to build the displays. This flat was NEVER USED to build a display, it was part of my Personal Collection. I Strongly Recommend Proper framing of this Rare, Collectible item. Some of my photos may appear blurry, it is because of my camera... The print itself is crisp and sharp. There is NO fading, the colors are Bright and vibrant.
