    118th MEDICAL BATTALION
    Constituted 20 October 1922 as the 118th Medical Regiment, assigned to the 43d Division, and allotted to the Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont National Guard
    Headquarters organized and Federally recognized 5 December 1923 at New Haven, Connecticut, (remainder of regiment organized 1923-1926 from new and existing medical elements in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont)
    Inducted into Federal service 24 February 1941 at home stations
    Regiment broken up 19 February 1942 and its elements reorganized, redesignated or disbanded as follows:
    Headquarters, Headquarters and Service Company, and Companies A, B, G, and H as Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, Companies A, B, C, and Clearing Company, 118th Medical Battalion, elements of the 43d Infantry Division (Band as Band, Fort Niagara, New York Reception Center - hereafter, separate lineage; remainder of  regiment disbanded)
    118th Medical Battalion inactivated 14 October 1945 at Camp Stoneman, California
    Reorganized in the Connecticut National Guard with Headquarters Federally recognized 8 November 1946 at Hartford CT.
