Vintage U.S. M-1 Steel Pot Combat Helmet Rear Seam Swivel Bale Textured Finish

Item up for bid is a fantastic vintage steel M-1 helmet issued by the U.S. military. This piece has the textured exterior finish with swivel bales and rear seam so would place it sometime between 1945 at the very end of WW2 to the Vietnam era. This piece has an original attached chin strap that shows wear and soiling. Body of the helmet shows no stress cracks or breaks in the metal. Interior shows some light surface rust. Exterior shows some spots of paint wear and some old paint residue from an unknown source. Seam on the rear is loose around the joint. Helmet measures 11-2/8" front to back by 9-2/8" wide by roughly 6" top to bottom. Nice piece that comes fresh to the market from years of being stored away.
